Grab Your Viewers Right Away
With Facebook Live, the majority of your broadcast views will come long after your Live is over. Which means, it's no longer appropriate to wait for viewers to join you. As soon as the countdown has finished, start your broadcast with a compelling statement, question or story that peaks your viewers interest. The goal is to compel your viewers to stick around and watch. This will also help you to grab the attention of those scrolling their Facebook Newsfeed, making them stop their scroll and watch your broadcast.
Give People a Reason to Watch Your Broadcast
It’s not only important to get people on your LIVE broadcast and to watch later…it’s also important to keep your viewers on your broadcast. for as long as possible. How long people view your broadcast plays an important role in Facebook’s algorithm and how it’s applied to your video. The longer people watch, the longer Facebook is going keep your video in the Newsfeed.
Call to Comment
A very important factor of Facebook’s algorithm (and how long your video will stay in people’s newsfeed) is ENGAGEMENT. Creating engagement during your LIVE broadcast and for viewers watching your broadcast later, is very crucial and you can do that by creating, asking questions throughout your broadcast (Call to Comment) and tell your viewers, both LIVE and those watching later, to comment. Plan out 3-5 Call to Comments before your broadcast.
